Handcrafted Dreams
Come True
Our Process
Our process depends on your style. We custom make each piece to fit your space. But for basics, our lumber comes from the local Willamette Valley. Tony and Kyle fall the timber, load it on the trailer, and bring it to the ranch to mill into size. Once the boards are cut, they are dried naturally in our shop. We do have local connections for a dry kiln, but if it can be done naturally, why not? It truly is aged to perfection! Once the wood has reached desired dryness, measured by a moisture content meter, the wood is then placed on the plainer table to be fine-tuned. As you plain and sand the lumber, it's true beauty begins to shine. The character of each unique piece is brought to life as we chip away at the rough edges, sanding, plaining, trimming. Some boards have cracks, some knots are honestly second to none, and some boards tell a story that no one can repeat. Once the boards are smooth, the finish is where the magic happens. Tony's favorite is the epoxy finish, which leave the wood with a glass like finish. My personal favorite is Rubio Monocoat, which leaves the wood bright and full of life, like a real living live edge. We also have Polyurethane and food grade finishes, depending on what you are seeking to use the furniture for. All fine furniture will need some TLC after time. We will teach you how to care for your customized creation.
Our legs are designed and crafted in house. We weld steel that is strong enough with a quality that is elegant. Typically, we finish with flat black paint, but can be customized to your desire.
If you dream it, we can make it.
